2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid
2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid
A gasoline engine that never turns the wheels is the core idea behind the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid. Nissan's e-POWER system uses that engine only to produce electricity, while dual electric motors deliver 225 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. According to Nissan, the result is the only hybrid in its class with a 100% electric drivetrain, and it marks the first time e-POWER is sold in Canada. The all-new Rogue Hybrid also brings a new design, upgraded ProPILOT Assist and a cabin with physical controls and up to two 14.3-inch displays. Fuel economy for the SR grade is estimated by Nissan at 6.2 L/100 km combined. On the Queensway between Kanata and downtown Ottawa, that electric drive gives smooth, quiet acceleration in heavy traffic. 417 Nissan expects the SR in fall 2026 in limited quantities, with the full lineup in early 2027.
What's new on the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid?
Exterior
The exterior was drawn to look sporty and composed at the same time. A hexagonal honeycomb grille frames integrated LED headlights, and on equipped models the hexagon theme continues into signature running lamps set in groups of two and three. Those numbers are ni and san in Japanese, and designers repeated the two-three motif in several spots around the body. Bold character lines rise from the lower doors and tie the cabin to the fenders visually. Brightwork is minimal, since the team chose flush surfaces over chrome to match the SUV's sportier focus.
Dimensions stay close to the previous Rogue at 4,650 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,720 mm tall, yet the new styling makes the vehicle look wider. Look closely at the C-pillar and you will find a triangle evoking Mount Fuji, with a tiny cloud shape hidden behind the glass. The SV rolls on 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 235/60R18 all-season tires, and the SR and Platinum use 19-inch wheels with 235/55R19 all-season tires. A power panoramic moonroof and gloss black roof rails are standard on SR and Platinum.
Interior
The dashboard keeps everyday functions on physical switches. Temperature, fan speed, airflow direction and the heated seats all have dedicated buttons, and the volume scroll wheel sits right below the central screen. Materials lean toward soft-touch surfaces with stitching, and the design team limited piano black finishes, using durable matte materials in high-touch areas. Platinum seats wear a quilted pattern inspired by down jackets, repeated on the centre console and trim pieces.
The Rogue Hybrid seats five, with Zero Gravity seats at the front and in both rear outboard positions. Second-row passengers get 920 mm of legroom, a reclining seatback, a fold-down armrest with cupholders and heating and air conditioning vents on the centre console. Wide rear doors open to nearly 90 degrees for easier car seat installation, and five LATCH anchors give more flexibility for fitting three child seats across. Quietness was a target too, with acoustic laminated glass, better door seals, shaped mirrors and standard Active Noise Cancellation. The cargo area expands from 880.7 L to 1,866.1 L when the rear seats fold.
Technology
Entertainment
Every Rogue Hybrid includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on a 12.3-inch NissanConnect touchscreen, plus Bluetooth, voice recognition and Siri Eyes Free. SR and Platinum switch to a 14.3-inch touchscreen and a matching 14.3-inch driver display, with Google built-in for Maps, Assistant, the Play Store and Google Gemini. Charging options cover two front USB-C ports, two rear charge-only USB-C ports, an available Qi2 wireless pad and dual Qi2 pads on Platinum. The Platinum also gets a 10-speaker Bose system and a head-up display.
Safety
Driver assistance starts with standard ProPILOT Assist, which pairs Intelligent Cruise Control with lane-centring steering. On SR and Platinum, Hands-off Traffic Jam Support allows temporary hands-off steering in slow congestion on divided highways, and Auto Lane Change can move into an adjacent lane after the driver signals. All trims include Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Multi-Collision Braking and High Beam Assist. SR and Platinum add front and rear parking sensors, Invisible Hood View and Moving Object Detection.
Powertrain
Propulsion comes entirely from the two electric motors. The front motor is rated at 202 horsepower and 243 lb-ft, and the rear motor at 134 horsepower and 144 lb-ft. Total system output is 225 horsepower. The standard all-wheel-drive system adjusts torque between front and rear continuously and can apply light braking to the inside wheels for more precise cornering, a useful trait on the winding roads of the Ottawa Valley. Smooth Stop modulates brake pressure at the end of a stop to reduce head toss, and e-Pedal allows one-pedal driving. Properly equipped, the SUV tows up to 680 kg (1,500 lbs).
